The Return of Tech Trek

Fiesta Tech Trek Makes Its In-Person Return

The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with Cybersecurity San Antonio, Tech Bloc, Geekdom, and CENTRO, returned to an in-person event last week during Fiesta 2022. Over 750 people joined the seven-stop trek down historic Houston Street where almost fifty companies, start-ups, and entrepreneurs showcased the amazing amounts of innovation happening in our city. Chamber staff and volunteers welcomed attendees at the Rand Building and at Devils River Distillery on Houston Street to check-in and provide a handy Tech Trek lanyard, which included a QR code that led participants to a map of the trek and a list of all of our sponsors and food vendors. Attendees then made the Trek to additional locations like the Majestic Theater, Home2Suites, the Valencia Hotel, the Kress Building, and the Sheraton Gunter Hotel. Some participants also ducked into Bunz for a quick bite on their way.

Thanks to TINT, participants could use the hashtag #techtrek22 on their social media posts to contribute a great Tech Trek site with great postings from all around the route ( Be sure to have a look and see what all of the excitement was about. This year’s Tech Trek was a great return to an in-person format after a last-minute cancellation in 2020 and a virtual event last year. People were excited to be back and highlight what San Antonio has to offer the tech industry.
