Council Supports Delegation from the Philippines

The Cybersecurity Council

welcomed a trade delegation from the Philippines on Monday, April 10. Organized by the City of San Antonio’s Economic Development Department (EDD), the delegation was focused on healthcare information technology and cybersecurity. Several members of the Chamber welcomed the fifteen-person delegation to the Alamo City. In the morning, Chamber member Geekdom hosted the initial welcome and provided an overview of the city’s startup community while Chamber VP for Cybersecurity and Economic Development, Jeff Fair, provided a broad overview of the city’s main industries with emphasis on our strong healthcare, biotech, and cybersecurity sectors.

The city’s team from EDD later escorted the delegation to several locations in San Antonio. Including chamber members VelocityTX where the group learned more about San Antonio’s business generation capability and potential. The delegation finally ended their tour of San Antonio at an evening reception hosted by Chamber member UT Health San Antonio before departing for visits to New York and a industry conference in Chicago.
