 THE ECOSYSTEM

Known as Military City USA, Joint Base San Antonio is the largest joint base in the entire Department of Defense with more than 275 military missions. But did you know that San Antonio is also the second largest global cyber hub in the United States?

Since the 1940s, electronic communications experts have called San Antonio home. Decades later, San Antonio’s cybersecurity community remains one of the most competitive innovation hubs in the world with a robust educational, federal, commercial, and military foundation.

Housed in the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the CyberSecurity San Antonio program (CSSAtx) convenes, connects, and brands this exciting cybersecurity ecosystem.

Founded in 2015 as a public-private partnership between the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, and industry partners, CSSAtx convenes a 350-member Cyber Council on a monthly basis. In collaboration with highly engaged stakeholders, CSSAtx unites and strategizes with the community through five core focus areas: military and government affairs, innovation and economic development, talent and workforce development, global engagement, and sustainability.

Below is a snapshot of the San Antonio region’s cyber ecosystem, including startups, industry, higher education institutions, K12 public school districts, federal and military partners, and community partners.
